Go Go Goa..

The long longing for a vacation finally did open my partner's ears and there we were already planning to go to the most wonderful Goa. The shopaholic creature in me awakened to the plan and made me slog and slog in the shops almost every weekend till we actually set off to Goa.

And one final day, we started off to our favourite Goa on our VW beast. We had a transit night in Hubli. The shopping spree started from there the very next morning with the famous Dharwad Pedhas and Gokak Karadantu. The not so long 4 hours journey from Hubli to Goa through the enthralling Western ghats had an adventurous drive. The sharp hairpin cut roads on the ghats gave an enormous view of the thick forests going up and down the hills. Definitely Karnataka tourism and PWD have to pay some heed to the roads to Goa. The good roads started as soon as we got into the the very neat Goa state.

We were warmly welcomed in the Royal Orchid Resort, Uttorda, South Goa. With the impressing suit of ours, that had a balcony with the pool and reception view and another with the backyard view gave my kid the liberty to peep out every now and then. The Uttorda beach in South Goa is a clean uncrowded peaceful beach. The beautiful greenery, the pool, the jacuzzi, the evening happy hours with drinks, the play area, the kids room, the gym, the dinner area with the sound of waves, the music, the resort had it all.

With the so near sea from the resort, our visits to the sea were countless. The days started with the happiness to go to the shore and collect the shells. Small treat to the stomach with the cakes and juice early in the morning and walk to the sea was heavenly. Lots of shells on the sand looked like the gifts from the waves from the broken nights. The shell collection and long walks on the beach were the perfect workouts in the morning to whet the appetite for the morning heavy breakfasts. The breakfasts were Indian and Continental. The lazy cook in me hogged the ready breakfast culminating in fruits and cakes. The noons were relaxing in the pool and spa. The evenings had the beach visits again till the dusks broke. The happy hours in the resort treated us with our favourite drinks. The not drunkard me was already hallucinating with few sips!! The dinners had a touch of Goan cuisine

We went to say hi to Panaji one day. The still colonial buildings in Panaji proudly displays the colonalism that was waived off a little late from it than the other states. With the dry fruits shopping and a lunch in our homely Kamat, we returned to our favourite resort.

We started off from Goa on the 4th day with loads of memory and shells. The sand, the beach, the shells, the sun, the resort were our perfect vacation... :)
